I was working as the Registrar at McAdory Middle School for 13 years when I felt a great calling to pursue my childhood dream of opening a retail clothing store for women. I was very stable in my current position with a great salary and wonderful benefits including working at the same school my children attended and being off when they were out of school. I would always tell everyone who knew me, "I will never leave this job."
Dixie Darl'n Boutique began as Becca's Chic Boutique in the back of my car. Working five days a week at the school and every weekend on the road traveling to pop up events and selling clothes. After a year of pop up events and meeting ladies in the grocery store parking lot, I rented a small corner in a hair salon close to the school. Things were going great so I thought but God wasn't finished. It was after a few ups and downs that i felt the Lord calling to open up a brick and mortar store. Oh wow! I was very excited and couldn't wait to start the new adventure. Now, I will have Two full-time careers. Yay me!
On November 4, 2016 Dixie Darl'n Boutique became a reality although the "jumping for joy" didn't last long and I knew I had to make a decision. Stay at I the school full time or leave the security and everything I knew very well to work the boutique full-time. I prayed a lot and decided to take the leap of Faith that I was being called to do and put my trust and faith in Him to see me through the plans that he had for me.
